Momentary Delight is a place where I will work through things, where I hope we can laugh at ourselves and where we can safely engage in a mutually beneficial dialogue.
There is so much tearing down and beating people down in this world. It often seems as if the internet is about angry people being angry with other angry people. Angry at life. Angry at those people. Angry at circumstances. Angry at each other. I realize that sometimes people have good reason for their feelings.
Sometimes, when sharing about injustice or about past wrongs, its hard not be angry, but I don’t want to live in that place with those feelings. I hope that even after expressing strong thoughts and feelings that we can move the conversation to a place of grace.
I enjoy writing about the light and the whimsical parts of life , but sometimes I need to write about the hard things of life. I hope that this blog can be an authentic place, where we can live in the real. Sometimes this means that pain and frustration will come to light. My hope though is that in the end there will always be light and that we can live in the light here.
You will never read a negative review of a book or movie on this blog. This isn’t because I like every book that I read, but rather it is because I have no interest in writing about things I don’t like. Instead, what I really enjoy is sharing. I want to share with you the books, ideas, experiences and memories that are most meaningful to me, and that will offer us a window (or sometimes a trap door) to grace.
I might fall short of my ideals sometimes, but I pledge that I will always try to do better, and I will try to learn from my mistakes.
This pledge is a reminder to me to elevate the conversation and to keep moving forward.
Welcome and Peace
