I’m Hitting the “Pause” Button

Sometimes it’s good to take a pause.

For the next few weeks I’m going to take a break from Momentary Delight. I hope to come back after Labor Day.

I’m going to read books for the simple pleasure of reading. I’m going to take walks. Maybe, I’ll start running again. I’m going to listen to classic rock and play air guitar. I’m going to take my girls out on dates. I’m going to watch sentimental sports movies. I’m going to talk to God, telling Him about my day and asking Him questions. I’m going to eat sushi. I’m going to make hand puppets. I’m going to have coffee with friends. I’m going to barbeque a steak. I’m going to watch baseball.

I want to enjoy my life without feeling the pressure of writing, without the pressure of being deep, without the pressure of being funny, without having the pressure of coming up with the clever one liner. Sometimes, it’s good to appreciate the moment, for what it is and simply rest in it.

  1. Enjoy your break, my friend. Don’t forget to take photos of those hand puppets!

  2. Hi Darren, we met at the barbecue a few weeks ago. I finally found you! I look forward to reading!

    • Hey Lexi:

Welcome! I’ve been taking a break for the past few weeks from the writing. It was a good break, but I’m also glad to be back!
